Those shows are totally stupid. They're trying to find smart kids but they ask questions about celebrities. I feel really sorry for the little nerdy kids who've clearly studied hard for the occasion, but are completely fucked over by stupid questions relating to Top 20 pop culture.

Oh well, trival knowledge has always been a major part of quiz shows.

I agree though. Especially when they ask questions on say Eminem. I mean, he wouldn't have one album that wasn't 'suitable for children' so what's he doing in the questions?

I think when they ask about pop stars they take the idea of "trivial" knowledge too far.

One time (recently) I was watching one of those and I didn't know the answer, but the primary school did. I got so angry I turned off the TV and I haven't watched it since.
